A salon with a heart and a name of its own
Paw SPA isn’t part of a chain, and it didn’t happen by chance. Behind it is one dog who changed a whole life.

Algor · forever in our hearts
The dog people were afraid of at first
When we moved into our house, the previous owners left us an unusual gift — Algor, a big seven-year-old pit bull. At first I was a little afraid of him. I already had Bobi, a small Maltese, and many people associate pit bulls with that “scary” breed.
Over time, that “dangerous” dog became the best and most grateful friend in the world. He is the reason I applied to study cynology. Sadly, Algor passed away before I started — but that is when I first decided that my future salon would carry his name.
Algor taught me that behind a breed’s reputation there is an individual personality. Since then I have never approached any dog with prejudice — not even the biggest one.
The salon is run by a cynologist

- Bachelor’s degree in Cynology
University studies at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice — dog anatomy, behaviour and care in depth.
- Dog Instructor Academy 2025/26
A year-long course focused on understanding dog behaviour and the relationship between people and dogs.
- Still learning
I’m gradually expanding my care to cats and rabbits — with humility. In the future I also plan to offer hand-stripping.

Mária Cirbusová
I’m a cynologist from Košice, and Paw SPA is a promise I made to Algor, kept. I want every single pet to feel good with me — and I want you to leave feeling that someone truly understood your dog, cat or rabbit. And yes, we can talk in English.
Come and see for yourself
Book your pet in and see that even a big dog can be calm and happy at the groomer’s.
